How the leaderboard works

Every board here ranks a single game mode over a single window of time. Use the tabs to switch between Today, This week and All time, and the filters below them to pick a mode — from the classic Easy and Hard rounds to Speed, Blind Sliders, Hue Sort, the Stroop Test and the rest. Each mode keeps its own board because the scores aren’t comparable across modes: a strong Hard run and a strong Speed run are scored on completely different scales.

Most modes run five rounds and score each round out of ten, so a near-perfect game lands close to fifty. Points come from how close your answer is to the target, measured with the CIEDE2000 formula for perceived color difference rather than raw RGB math — two colors that look almost identical score almost the same even if their hex codes differ. A handful of modes are open-ended: Color Sequence and Name That Color have no fixed ceiling, so their boards scale against the current top score instead of a fixed maximum.

The Daily and Streak boards sit slightly apart. Daily tracks one shared puzzle that everyone plays on the same day, and Streak ranks how many days in a row you’ve kept a game going — play any mode once per UTC day to keep yours alive. No account is needed anywhere: you pick a nickname when you post a score, and that’s the only thing saved. With a free account you also get a Friends view of every board — the same rankings filtered to just you and the friends you’ve added. Want a country-versus-country view instead? See the country leaderboard, or read how scoring works in full.
